What Nate buys

Sell Vintage Comic Books

Vintage comic books need careful handling and accurate identification. Nate is interested in hearing about older issues, including books from before 1960 and later decades.

Age is a starting point

Cover dates, cover prices and publisher details can help narrow down an issue. Reprints sometimes reproduce an earlier cover, so age cannot be established from the cover alone. Photograph the cover and available publication details without stressing the spine.

Condition is more than a clean cover

Missing pages, loose staples, moisture, brittle paper and restoration can affect value. Describe known damage honestly. Do not attempt to improve a book by taping tears, trimming edges, cleaning or recoloring it.

Protect the books while deciding

Keep them away from direct sunlight, damp rooms and temperature extremes. Use suitable comic bags and boards if available, but avoid forcing a fragile book into a tight bag. Handle with clean, dry hands and support the book.

Identify rather than guess

Share title, issue number, publisher and any known history. A discussion about selling is different from professional authentication or grading. If a book already has a grading label, photograph the label and case.
