Sell Comic Books in Downey
A Downey collection with classic covers may include original vintage issues alongside later reproductions. Accurate identification is more useful than assuming every old-looking book was printed when its story first appeared.

Vintage Versus Reprints
Record the title, issue number and visible publisher marks from a few books. If the indicia or barcode can be checked safely, it may help distinguish printings. Do not pull apart bindings, tape tears or flatten an issue for identification.
Talk with Nate about the actual books
Tell Nate whether vintage-looking issues make up the whole collection or just a small part of it. Describe how many boxes remain and whether the books were kept in protective bags. An actual appraisal depends on the particular editions and their condition.
Distinguish an original-looking cover from an original issue
Facsimile editions may reproduce famous covers, original dates and even vintage-looking prices. Those details can be part of a reproduction rather than proof of age. If a printing statement is safely visible, note it alongside the series title and issue number; otherwise describe the edition as uncertain. Compare information rather than forcing a brittle comic open or relying only on a search-result image. A Downey seller with a mixture of reprints and older books can explain that mix honestly without discarding either group before a conversation. Existing receipts and old lists may help, but should not overrule the book's actual identifying information. Nate can ask for clarification before discussing interest or an offer, and no value is established by resemblance to a famous cover alone.
